Ideas of how you can raise money

In order for us to continue our work, we are constantly looking at different ways to raise monies, either through receiving donations, hosting events or applying for grants.

We were referred to Talk..Don't Walk after our daughter ran away from home, they really helped us to become a family again. We wanted to do something for them, so we had a bonfire party and asked family and friends if they would make a donation to the Centre instead of bringing along the fireworks.

Here are just a few ideas to get you started…


  • In the swim
    You could organise a sponsored swim with your friends at your local pool.
  • Marathon man (or woman)
    Like to run, like to run far – such as marathons!! Then, why not get sponsored doing something you like. Please contact The Centre, for more information.
  • BBQ
    Ask your neighbours round for a barbecue. Ask them to bring a bottle and the meat of their choice. You provide the salads and bread. A small entry fee should cover costs, with some left over for us.
  • Quiz
    Everyone loves the chance to show off their knowledge! Make it a fun event and offer drinks or light refreshments. Charge an entrance fee and award prizes. You could have a theme for your Quiz such as Sports, TV & Film, Music, etc.
  • Theme parties
    Parties are a great way to enjoy time with family and friends and raise money. Charge a small amount to cover costs and a donation. Use your imagination but you could host parties based on an era such as, 60s, 70s or 80s or even Heroes & Villains, Beach Party, the list is endless.
  • Garden open day
    Do you enjoy your garden, why not let others too! You could invite people to view and appreciate all your hard work and charge a small fee? It might be a good idea to ask your neighbours to open their gardens too, to make visitors’ journeys doubly worthwhile.
  • The Great Escape!
    Challenge your colleagues to get as far away from work as possible within a day or a weekend. They are sponsored for every mile – provided they stay within the law and don’t spend any money.
  • Sweepstakes
    An opportunity for the winner and us to benefit, why not have an office sweepstake for one of our major sporting events such as the Grand National or Wimbledon or an up-and-coming event taking place, Company Golf Day, New Baby, etc? Why not enter us into the sweepstake and give us the chance to win, or you could donate 10% of the winnings to The Relationships Centre.
