Positive You
Positive You was developed by The Relationships Centre to meet the needs of women whose self esteem and confidence had been shattered by abusive relationships. On running the course, facilitators realised that it is of benefit to a wide range of women, not just those who’ve experienced abuse and so we are pleased to be able to open up the course to all women in Halton who would like to improve their confidence and self esteem, and take positive steps to achieve their goals.
The first course at Halton Women's Centre started April 3rd and has been well attended by a great group of girls who want to take steps to improve their self esteem, confidence and to move forward with their lives. Lead jointly by Rachel and Andrea, a volunteer at the centre, the course is now in its third week and has already seen two ladies taking up literacy and ICT courses and others accessing a number of services at the centre.
We hope to extend the course even further by training, volunteers and other professionals to deliver the course so that many more women cam benefit from what has become a very popular self development experience.
Complementary Therapies
We are grateful to our complementary therapist Michelle who is volunteering at the centre from 9 till 2 every Monday and will be offering therapies ranging from Reiki to Indian Head Massage. We hope to extend the facility in the future to offer more women the opportunity to access such a wonderful service.
Health Walks
Halton Women’s Centre is located very near to a canal and we will be starting health walks from the mid-May. One of our centre users, Debbie is training as a walk leader and will be leading walks from the centre on a regular basis. Tea, coffee and flapjacks are provided after every walk for those in need of hard earned refreshments!
By making a donation you can help us to continue our work in transforming the lives of individuals, families and communities.
